Kincaid Solutions was built by Joy and Kevin Kincaid to give individuals, families, and business owners something they often struggle to find in insurance: honest explanations, personalized options, and real support after the policy begins.

Years before starting the agency, Joy and Kevin experienced the same frustration many clients face today: losing employer-sponsored coverage, sitting through confusing explanations, and purchasing a plan they did not fully understand.
Instead of accepting that as normal, they decided to build an agency around clarity, honesty, and personal service.
Co-founder · Independent Insurance Agent

Joy's approach to insurance was shaped by her own experience as a confused and unsupported customer. That experience became the reason she entered the industry and later built Kincaid Solutions.
Entrepreneurship has always been part of Joy Kincaid's life. Even while working for large corporations early in her career, she continually looked for better ways to serve people and create solutions. In 2006, she began building her own clientele and supporting small businesses, which gave her firsthand insight into the challenges business owners and families often face.
Everything changed in 2013 when Kevin temporarily lost his W-2 job and their family also lost its employer-sponsored health insurance. During a meeting with a health insurance agent, Joy was presented with fast explanations, confusing charts, and a plan she did not fully understand. The family kept the plan for only a few months and later faced significant out-of-pocket costs.
That experience became a turning point. In 2014, Joy became a healthcare agent with a clear goal: to provide the kind of service she wished her own family had received. She wanted to explain coverage honestly, discuss both the advantages and limitations, and continue helping clients after the policy was issued.
Working at a local agency taught Joy the fundamentals of the business, but it also showed her how often customers were pressured, misled, or left unsupported. In 2018, she stepped out on her own and launched her agency.
By 2019, Kevin had joined her as her business partner, and together they continued building Kincaid Solutions around a simple mission: sell insurance the way they wish it had been sold to them — with honesty, clarity, respect, and real service.
Joy remains driven by helping clients feel heard, informed, supported, and cared for while navigating a complicated insurance market.
“I wanted my clients to feel supported, informed, and advocated for — something I never felt during my own experience.”

“I wanted my clients to feel supported, informed, and advocated for — something I never felt during my own experience.”
Joy approaches every recommendation from the client's point of view and works to make sure they feel heard and respected.
She explains coverage in straightforward language so clients understand what they are considering before making a decision.
Joy discusses both the strengths and limitations of coverage instead of presenting only the positive features.
She believes the client relationship should continue after enrollment, especially when questions or problems arise.

Kevin combines a researcher's mindset with a practical, hands-on desire to help people understand and implement the right solution.
Kevin describes himself as having a white-collar head and a blue-collar heart.
His analytical side enjoys research, comparisons, finding new ways to understand difficult subjects, and making complicated ideas easier to explain. His practical side wants to roll up his sleeves, help solve the problem, and assist with putting the solution into place.
Before entering insurance, Kevin spent approximately ten years in ministry and twenty-five years in the HVAC/R industry. Those experiences shaped his ability to listen, explain complex matters, solve practical problems, and work directly with people from many different backgrounds.
In 2017, Kevin's life changed dramatically when he temporarily lost his eyesight and his traveling sales position within the same week. He was functionally blind for approximately four months and ultimately regained vision in one eye. Because his previous job required extensive driving, continuing in that career was no longer realistic.
Joy encouraged Kevin to earn his health and life insurance licenses and join the agency where she was working. Studying without full eyesight was difficult, but he completed the coursework, passed his licensing exams, and began attending client appointments with Joy to learn the business.
Although Kevin was new to insurance, he brought decades of business and real-world problem-solving experience with him. He soon began questioning the limitations of the captive agency model, where they could offer only one company's product line.
After reviewing broader alternatives, Joy and Kevin left that model and moved toward a more independent approach. This gave them greater flexibility, additional product options, and the ability to help more people based on their individual circumstances.
Today, Kevin brings careful research, practical thinking, persistence, and personal accessibility to each client relationship.

Kevin enjoys comparing options, examining the details, and identifying important differences that may affect a client.
He looks for clear ways to explain complicated insurance concepts and turn them into understandable choices.
Kevin focuses not only on identifying a possible solution but also on helping the client understand the next steps.
His own career transition taught him how to keep moving forward through uncertainty and major life changes.
Joy and Kevin approach insurance from different but complementary perspectives. Joy leads with advocacy, education, and client care. Kevin brings research, analysis, and practical problem-solving. Together, they help clients understand their options and feel supported throughout the process.

These recognitions reflect years of dedication, continuous learning, and a commitment to serving every client with honesty, clarity, and care.

While we are grateful for these recognitions, the greatest reward is the trust our clients place in us every day.
Joy and Kevin began in a captive environment, where their ability to help clients was limited to a single company or product line. As they learned more about the available alternatives, they recognized that broader access could allow them to serve more people and respond more effectively to different client situations.
They chose a more independent approach so they could compare more options, explain meaningful differences, and make recommendations based on the client rather than the limitations of one product line.
Recommendations built around your household, health, and priorities — not a fixed script.
The freedom to compare plans from multiple carriers instead of a single product line.
Honest explanations of both the strengths and the trade-offs of each option we present.
A real person to call when something changes, a claim comes up, or you have a question.
For Joy and Kevin, that means selling insurance the way they wish it had been sold to them: with honesty, clarity, respect, and support before and after enrollment.
Understand your circumstances before discussing possible coverage.
Present the available options, trade-offs, and limitations in straightforward language.
Remain available when you need help understanding or using your coverage.
When you work with Kincaid Solutions, you receive guidance from people who take the time to understand your situation and help you navigate the next step.
